Introduction

At Canyon, a leading brand in high-performance bicycles, I worked as a Freelance UX Designer and Content Manager on the design and development of their soon-to-be-launched mobile app. My role involved not only shaping the user experience but also collaborating closely with various teams to define and enhance the app’s core functionalities, which aimed to seamlessly integrate users with their bikes and elevate their cycling experience and imagining future experiences.

Challenge

The challenge was multifaceted: Beyond the UX design, I was responsible for managing and streamlining content processes—coordinating the creation, translation, and integration of content across different languages and platforms. This required close alignment with developers, UX copywriters, translators, and UI designers to ensure a smooth and cohesive user journey.

The app itself, launched as part of Canyon’s digital ecosystem, needed to seamlessly integrate with their already existing physical realm of products and services, enhancing the users’ experience from ordering, to assembly of the bike and beyond.

Content management

At Canyon, I was responsible for centralizing and organizing technical documentation for hundreds of products into a Content Management System (CMS). This involved coordinating across multiple teams—software development, UX copywriting, translators, marketing, and cinematography—to create workflows that aligned customer-facing guides with the mobile app’s UX guidelines. I also led the digitization of bike setup guides, developing a system to efficiently extract and organize thousands of files from PDFs into the CMS. The end result was a streamlined, scalable process that ensured consistency across all content and improved productivity across teams.

Future user experience (Under NDA 🔒)

I further co-created the strategic roadmap for their digital experience strategy with a near-term, mid-term and long-term horizon. This roadmap was used to pitch to the Executive board the potential of their new Canyon Connected department and argue for further investment into digital products to drive growth. This included generating a vision document, storyboards and wireframes alongside executive communication.
