Water kettle
Incentive
Personal project in which I designed an electric water kettle.

Design
The kettle has a few smart features built in. First of all an LED ring at the bottom was integrated to communicate that the kettle is heating up water. The LED light elegantly spreads over a ribbed texture on the bottom element, to make it appear just that little bit extra interesting. Also a loop at the bottom can be used to adjust the cord-length to exactly the right length.

Adjusting the cord length
Kanna enables the user to adjust the cord length exactly to the desired length by creating a rotatable inset in the bottom. By simply flipping up the loop & twisting the cord-length can be adjusted.
A frustration seen with traditional water kettles & other kitchen appliances is that cord lengths are not adjustable, or only adjustable in certain sets of length (by twisting it around the bottom either one, two or three full twists) which leaves visual and literal mess in your kitchen. The loop at the bottom enables you to adjust the length of the wire to the exact right length, so the kettle fits your kitchen design perfectly.
The rubber loop on the bottom prevents the kettle from sliding of the kitchen counter.
