Introduction

As UX Lead for Garment Care at Philips Domestic Appliances, I spearheaded a project to define a comprehensive digital strategy for the category. I conducted in-depth market and user research, facilitated cross-disciplinary workshops, and developed a strategy supported by a tested prototype, which included an app, webpage, and social media integration. The strategy was designed to enhance the strengths of existing physical products, improve usability, and expand their functionality, ultimately providing greater value to users.

Challenge

Upon joining, I noticed that wireframes were being rapidly developed, with digital products often copied across projects and target groups without sufficient consideration for user needs or strategic value for Philips. Instead of refining the screens directly, I identified key gaps in the process, particularly the absence of critical user insights. I initiated a project to define the core digital strategy, ensuring it was aligned with user needs while driving both business impact and innovation.
